The first Latin American Meeting on LIBS (LAMLIBS)

Prima conferință internațională latino-americană dedicată metodei LIBS (Laser Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy) va avea loc în Mexic, Mexico City în iunie 2019. Redăm mai jos invitația oficială a organizatorilor.

Dear Latin-American colleagues and students of the community working in or with Laser Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS).

We are pleased to invite you to the first Latin American Meeting on LIBS (LAMLIBS) which will be held from June 9 to 14, 2019 in Mexico City at the Exhibition and Congress Centre (http://www.cec.unam.mx/index-en) of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) main campus.  

For years, several colleagues have been thinking about organizing a conference where we could treat our problems and solutions using LIBS, as Europeans organize their EMLIBS. Next June, we will organize our first Latin American Meeting on LIBS, which will take place simultaneously with the Colloquium Spectroscopicum Internationale XLI (CSIXLI) that is a Conference with a lot of tradition for different spectroscopies.

You have the opportunity to attend both conferences with just one registration.

Mexico City is a place where modernity meets with the pre-Hispanic and colonial roots of the Mexican people, making it an excellent destination for academic and tourism purposes.

It will be an honour to welcome researchers and students from Latin-American to present and discuss their findings, to describe the emerging applications and the future paths in LIBS. The scientific program will focus on current advances in the research of these fields and also on interdisciplinary applications.

IUPAC endorsement implies that entry visas will be granted to all bona fide chemists provided application is made not less than six months in advance. If a visa is not granted two months before the meeting, the IUPAC Secretariat should be notified without delay by the applicant. 

The conferences attendees must adhere to the CSI XLI – I LAMLIBS “Code of Conduct” and the highest professional standards.
